City of Merced issued the following announcement on Nov 6.
City offices are closed Weds, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. There will be no trash collection that day. All refuse collection will be delayed one day the rest of the week.
The Veterans Day Parade will be virtual this year with ceremonies, photos of veterans and parade floats starting at 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Merced County Veterans Services Office, the event can be viewed on their Facebook page, ATT Channel 99, Comcast Channel 97 or the Merced County YouTube channel.
The 8th annual Merced Field of Honor, a tribute to veterans and first responders on the front lawn of Merced College, is open Nov. 7 through Nov. 14.
City offices will also be closed Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving. There is no trash pickup Thursday. Collection will be delayed one day the rest of the week.
