10.4% of citizens unemployed in Madera County in 2021

Madera County recorded an unemployment rate of 10.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 6,859 people out of the 156,304 living in Madera County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Madera County has increased compared to the 9.6% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Madera County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.5%.

Of the 58,860 people who had a job during that time, 116 were employed in the Armed Forces and 58,744 belonged to the civilian labor force.
