Assemblyman Joe Patterson of Rocklin has criticized Governor Gavin Newsom's decision to call a special legislative session, labeling it as "political theater." In a statement, Patterson expressed his belief that the governor is more focused on gaining national attention rather than addressing local issues.
"Newsom’s calling of this special session is nothing short of political theater," Patterson stated. He further commented, "Despite voters saying they want him to focus on issues here in California, he’s once again distracted by his own aspirations to be in the national spotlight."
Patterson, who represents California's 5th Assembly District, emphasized his view that Governor Newsom is disconnected from the pressing concerns affecting Californians. "Our Governor continues to prove he is out of touch with the real issues affecting Californians and is more focused on political masquerades that address nothing," he added.
The 5th Assembly District includes several communities such as Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, Granite Bay, Auburn, and others within the region.
