Madera County issued the following announcement on Dec 22.
The Oakhurst Midtown Connector project is now underway and will construct a local road as a second access route to the Indian Springs and School Road (Rd 427) corridor to improve traffic circulation to/from this corridor and allow for better emergency access.
This secondary access route will also help to relieve congestion at the Road 426/Road 427 and Road 426/SR 41 intersections. The new connector road will extend from State Route 41 (SR 41) across Nelder Creek (over a new bridge) and connect into Indian Springs Road.
New traffic signals will be installed at the intersection with SR 41 and also at the existing intersection of Indian Springs Road and School Road (Rd 427). The project is funded by Local Measure T and State SB-1 fuel tax dollars.
The project is anticipated to be completed in 12-16 months, barring any unforeseen delays.
